The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has urged Aadhaar card holders, residents who were issued their Aadhaar number 10 years ago, and have never updated it since then, All types of Aadhaar number holders are being encouraged to update their documents. But it is not mandatory to do so.

The central government has made some changes while amending the rules of Aadhaar card.
