In the coming days, the number of such leagues may increase further, due to which international cricket is affected. During these leagues, many players prefer to play franchise tournaments instead of international cricket.

The MCC had organized a meeting in Dubai in this regard, the purpose of which was to examine how international cricket could be saved amidst a busy cricket schedule filled with these franchise leagues and how global cricket would look like in the next 10 years.

What did MCC say in the statement?
MCC said,year 2023 The men’s cricket schedule in the United States is filled with franchise tournaments, which compete with the recently released ICC Future Tours Program (FTP) for bilateral international cricket until 2027. There is a slight gap only in October and November this year because at that time the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will be held in India.

The statement said, ‘This trend is being repeated every year. International and franchise cricket are constantly clashing. This clash does not happen only during ICC tournaments. In franchise tournaments only Indian Premier League This conflict does not happen even during the season because international cricket is not played during this time.

The statement also said about women’s cricket
In its statement, the MCC described women’s cricket as avoiding obstruction in this matter. The MCC said, ‘The recently released program of the ICC Women’s FTP till 2025 looks very clear, in contrast to the men’s program. There is no conflict between international cricket and the franchise league here.
