Is bathing with soap everyday dangerous for the skin? What harm does it do to the body


It is necessary to take bath daily because it cleans our body. In such a situation, if you are asked with what you take bath, then surely your answer will be with soap and water. Every day in any season, we use one or the other soap. Some people use soap too much and some people take bath without soap. But the question now arises that how important is bathing with soap for health. Should we use soap daily while taking bath or not, dermatologists don’t know. 

Is bathing with soap everyday beneficial? 

Assistant Professor and Dermatologist of GSVM Medical College, Dr. Yugal Rajput explains that there are many benefits of bathing daily with soap. Soap helps in cleaning dead tissue bacteria and fungus from our skin. Due to this, there is no infection on our skin and there is no body odor either. Soap removes the dust and dirt accumulated on our skin. Apart from this, dead skin is also removed. Soap is beneficial in every season.

Use soap in winter like this 

Dr. Couple Rajput says that using moisturizing soap for bathing in winter can be more beneficial. Due to this your skin does not dry and moisture remains in the skin. Antibacterial soaps have limited benefits. If you do not want to buy expensive moisturizing soap, you can also use normal soap. Using normal soap can dry the skin, in such a situation, moisturizer should be applied after bathing. Applying moisturizer will solve your dry skin problem.

Benefits of daily soap bath 

There are some benefits of daily soap bath which are as follows-

1. Cleanses the skin
Soap removes dirt, oil, dust and makeup from the skin while bathing. It also frees the skin from bacteria and other germs.

2. Softens and moisturizes the skin
The soap retains the moisture of the skin and makes the skin soft. It helps in keeping the skin fragrant and healthy.

3. Reduces skin freckles
Soap reduces skin freckles and makes skin glowing.

4. Helpful for balanced skin
The soap controls the oily performance of the skin and keeps the skin balanced. It helps in keeping the skin healthy naturally.

5. Suitable for dry and irritated skin
The soap reduces the dryness of the skin and prevents it from drying.

Disadvantages of using soap daily 

1. Bathing with soap everyday removes the natural oils from the skin.  

2. Regular use of soap also disturbs the pH balance of the skin, which can lead to increased dryness and irritation. 

3. Anti bacterial soaps are particularly harmful as they kill the beneficial microbes along with the bad. 

4. Soaps can harm your acid mantle, causing you to face many pimples, wrinkles and inflammation. 

Use these things instead of soap 

1. Cleansing Oil- Oil based cleanser is a healthy alternative for the skin. It cleanses the body of dirt without causing any harm.

2. Dry Brushing- Using a dry brush exfoliates your skin and speeds up its healing process, leaving it looking fresh. 

3. All-natural scrub- If you want, you can prepare a natural scrub at home and consume it. There will be no side effects by doing this.
