Rohit also won the player of the match award in the 2015 IPL final for scoring a 26-ball fifty against Chennai Super Kings. He is also MI’s highest run scorer with 4982 runs.

He is also the most capped player for Mumbai and has the second most number of wins (81 out of 143 matches) in the IPL as captain. But after missing out on the playoffs in 2021, Mumbai finished a disappointing last in the 10-team event in IPL 2022, winning only four out of 14 matches in the league stage.

On the international front, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma will make his debut in 2023 in the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka when the first match will be played in Guwahati on January 10. After this, there will be matches in Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram on 12 and 15 January.
