IPL 2025 Mega Auction Day 2: Welcome to the live coverage of Day 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2025 Mega Auction. Taking place in the city of Jedda in Saudi Arabia, IPL 2025 mega auction Day 1 saw high-profile players attracting massive bids as franchises went all out on Sunday to secure their top targets. Leading the spree was Lucknow Super Giants’ record-breaking Rs 27 crore purchase of Rishabh Pant, contributing to a staggering total spend of INR 467.95 crore by the 10 teams.

On the opening day of the two-day mega event, 84 players from a pool of 577 were presented. Of these, 68 players were sold, with four retained using the Right-to-Match (RTM) card. With the INR 27 crore record-signing, Pant became the most expensive buy at the auction in the history of IPL. Following him close was his countryman Shreyas Iyer, whose services have been acquired by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Rs 26.75 crore.

Day 2 (Monday) will feature the auction of 33 capped players, followed by an accelerated round that includes both capped and uncapped players. Teams have been instructed to submit 25 names each for this phase. Royal Challengers Bengaluru hold the largest purse at ₹30.65 crore, followed by Mumbai Indians with ₹26.10 crore, and Punjab Kings at ₹22.50 crore.
