Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani’s decision, gave Rs 315 crore to this famous educational institution

Nandan Nilekani Donation: Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani has announced to give crores of rupees to a prestigious educational institution of the country. Through a press release and tweet, it has been informed that Rs 315 crore is being given to IIT-Bombay. It is also informed in the press release that this financial contribution from Nandan Nilekani is a grant ahead of Rs 85 crore made by him earlier, which is taking his total contribution to Rs 400 crore. Actually Nandan Nilekani has obtained his graduation degree from IIT-Bombay itself which was in Electrical Engineering.

What did Nandan Nilekani say

Speaking on the occasion, Nandan Nilekani said, “IIT-Bombay has been the cornerstone of my life, shaping my formative years and laying the foundation for my journey. This donation is more than just a financial contribution; it is a tribute to the place that has given me so much and a commitment to the students who will shape our world tomorrow.”

MoU signed with the director of IITB

A Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) was signed in Bangalore today for this donation, which was done by Nandan Nilekani and Professor Shubhashish Chowdhary. Professor Chowdhary is the director of IIT-Bombay. The subsequent press release states that this donation will help promote world-class infrastructure at IIT Bombay, encourage research in emerging areas of engineering and technology, and nurture a thriving tech startup ecosystem.

Director of IIT-Bombay expressed happiness

IIT-Bombay Director Shubhashish Chowdhary said that this donation will greatly accelerate the development of IIT Bombay and firmly establish it on the path of global leadership. Nandan’s contribution will further encourage philanthropic contributions to advance research and development at universities in India.

Nandan Nilekani was the Founder President of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in the rank of Cabinet Minister from 2009 to 2014.
