Regarding Nitin Menon, an official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in his statement to PTI that Nitin will appear in the role of umpire in the Ashes series, in which he will be in Leeds from July 6 to 10 and Manchester from July 19 to 23. Will appear in the role of on-field umpire in the third and fourth Test matches of the series to be played. After this, Nitin will play the role of TV umpire in the 5th Test match of the series to be played at The Oval ground in London from 27 to 31 July.
Kumar Dharmasena of Sri Lanka will be his second on-field umpire in the third Test match with Nitin Menon, while Joel Wilson will be seen in the fourth Test match. Nitin Menon said in his statement to PTI that, it was always my dream to one day play the role of an umpire in the Ashes. A great atmosphere is witnessed during this series, whether it is played in England or Australia.
Umpiring in 18 test matches so far
If we look at Nitin Menon’s career as an umpire, he has umpired in 18 Tests, 42 ODIs and 40 T20 matches so far. At present, Nitin Menon is playing the role of umpiring in the 16th season of IPL. At the same time, with the Ashes series, the ICC is also bringing back the rules before the Corona era, in which both foreign umpires are going to appear in the role of on-field umpire.
