Indian Railway Earning: There has been a huge increase in the earnings of Indian Railways from passengers. During April 1 to October 8, passenger earnings have increased by 92 percent as compared to last year and it has increased to Rs 33,476 crore. During the period from 1st April to 8th October last year, the passenger income of the Railways was Rs 17,394 crore. Indian Railways gave this information on Tuesday.
Earnings from reserved category increased by 24 percent
Talking about the reserved passenger segment, during April 1 to October 8, a total of 42.89 crore people booked booked tickets, which was 34.56 crores in the same period last year. An increase of 24 percent was recorded in the total number of passengers in the reserve class. From April 1 to October 8, 2022, the Railways earned Rs 26,961 crore from the reserved passenger segment. In the same period last year, Railways had earned Rs 16,307 crore from reserved passengers.

Earnings from unreserved category increased by 500%
Talking about the unreserved ie unreserved passenger segment, between April 1 and October 8, 2022, 268.56 crore passengers booked tickets, which was 197 percent more than 90.57 crore in the same period last year. Interestingly, the Railways earned Rs 6,515 crore from unreserved passenger class during April 1 to October 8. In the same period last year, the Railways earned Rs 1,86 crore from the unreserved passenger segment. There was an increase of 500 percent in this.
