RTIS Indian Railways : Many times you had to go to the station and wait for your train hours before. Many times your train was missed. All of you will be able to get the latest updates of every moment of the train running on the track on mobile. See what are the new updates.
Equipment installed in 2700 engines
Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, Indian Railways has installed Real Time Train Information System (RTIS) equipment for 2700 locomotives. With this, train related information will be updated every 30 seconds and will be available to all of you. This technology has been developed in collaboration with ISRO.
Updated every 30 seconds
According to railway sources, RTIS is being installed in locomotives to get automatic information of train movement time at stations including arrival and departure or rehearsal. In the Control Office Application (COA) system, they automatically prepare tables on the control charts of trains. RTIS will update the mid-section at an interval of 30 seconds. Train Control can now more closely monitor the location and speed of RTIS enabled locomotives/trains without any human intervention.
Now 6000 more engines will be covered
Let us tell you that RTIS equipment for 2700 locomotives will be installed in 21 electric loco sheds across the country. After this, in the second phase of roll out, 6000 more locomotives in 50 loco sheds will be included in this plan using ISRO’s SATCOM hub. At present about 6500 locomotives (RTIS and REMMLOT) are being directly fed into the Control Office Application (COA). This will enable the passengers to get automatic charting of trains and tatkal information easily.
