India on Tuesday issued an advisory for its citizens living in Israel to relocate to safer areas due to the ongoing conflict.

“In view of the prevailing security situation and local safety advisories, all Indians nationals in Israel, especially those working in or visiting border areas in the north and south, are advised to relocate to safe areas within Israel,” a statement released by the Indian Embassy in Israel said.

The Embassy further said it remains in touch with the Israeli authorities to ensure the safety of all the Indian nationals.

The Indian embassy has also issued an emergency helpline no +97235226748. “Alternatively, the hotline number of Population and Immigration Authority of Israel may be contacted: Tel 1700707889,” the statement added.

The Embassy also urged Indian nationals stranded in Israel to share this advisory through their local networks for wider circulation.

The advisory comes a day after an Indian national was killed and two others were injured when an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon by Hezbollah militants struck an orchard near Israel’s northern border community of Margaliot.

All three victims were from Kerala. The missile hit a plantation in Margaliot, a moshav in the Galilee region in the north of Israel around 11 am on Monday, Zaki Heller, spokesperson for rescue services Magen David Adom (MDA) said.

Patnibin Maxwell, 30, from Kollam in Kerala was killed in the attack while Bush Joseph George and Paul Melvin were injured and taken to hospitals for treatment.
