Indian women’s cricket will start its campaign against Pakistan women’s team on 12th February. Meanwhile, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur made it clear from one of her statements that the focus of all the players of the team is currently on the World Cup and not on the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction.

Let us tell you that the auction process of players in the Women’s Premier League will be organized in Mumbai on February 13. Just a day before this, the Indian team has to play a match against Pakistan. At the same time, the first season of the Women’s Premier League can start from 4 March.

Harmanpreet Kaur said in her statement that the World Cup is more important for us than any other tournament. Our full focus is on winning it at the moment. Everything else will come and go. As a sportsperson, you know what to focus on. We all are mature enough and know what is important to us.

The victory of the under-19 team also gave us confidence

Under the captaincy of Shafali Verma, the Indian women’s Under-19 team lifted the cup in the first edition of the Women’s ICC T20 World Cup Under-19 after defeating England in the final match. On this, Harmanpreet said that after seeing the performance of the Under-19 team, we have also got confidence. He has done what we have not been able to do so far. It was a great moment for us too when the Under-19 team did this historic feat.

On the other hand, Harmanpreet has expressed the hope that the Women’s Premier League will play a similar role in Indian women’s cricket as the Women’s Big Bash and The Hundred have played in Australia and England.
