Team India captain Rohit Sharma commended Rishabh Pant for his impressive comeback in Test cricket. India vs Bangladesh Test series marked Pant’s return to the longest format after more than 20 months.
He scored a determined 39 runs off 52 balls in the first innings and followed it with a stellar 109 runs off 128 balls in the second innings, achieving his sixth Test century. This milestone also places him level with MS Dhoni for the most centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper-batter in Tests.

“He’s been through some really tough times. The way he has managed himself was superb to watch. He came back in the IPL, followed by a successful World Cup and this is a format he loves the most. It was about giving him the game time. Credit to him, he had an impact straightaway. No matter what the conditions are, we want to build the team around that,” said Rohit in the post-match presentation.
