IND vs AUS highlights: Team India asserted their dominance on Day 3 of IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth, leaving Australia reeling at 12/3 by stumps on Day 3. Usman Khawaja remained unbeaten, but the hosts face a daunting challenge, needing 522 runs for what looks an impossible victory.
India’s pace attack delivered early blows, with Jasprit Bumrah taking two wickets and Mohammed Siraj adding one to pile the pressure on the Australian top-order.
Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal starred with a magnificent 161, supported by Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 100, as India declared their innings at 487/6.

At the end of Day 2, India reached 172/0, with Yashasvi Jaiswal on 90* and KL Rahul on 62*.
Play resumed on Day 3 with India in full control, but Rahul was dismissed for 77 runs, having struck 5 fours off 176 balls. Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel both fell for a single run each. Yashasvi Jaiswal batted brilliantly, scoring 161 runs in 297 balls, which included 3 sixes and 15 fours. Devdutt Padikkal (25), Washington Sundar (29), and Nitish Reddy (38) also made contributions, but India’s innings lost momentum as the wickets fell.
Then, Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar steadied the innings, with Kohli remaining unbeaten on 100* after facing 143 balls. He hit 8 fours and 2 sixes during his knock. This century marks Kohli’s 30th Test century and his 80th overall in international cricket.
Chasing a mammoth target after India declared their innings, Australia lost three wickets in quick succession with Bumrah taking two and Siraj one. The hosts are on verge of losing the BGT opener in Perth. India is 7 wickets away from a much-deserved victory, taking 1-0 lead in five-match Test series.
