Hurun philanthropy list 2022: Shiv Nadar, the founder of HCL, has become the biggest donor of the country. For a long time, Azim Premji of Wipro was one of the most donating billionaires. But according to the Hurun India Philanthropy List 2022, Shiv Nadar has overtaken Azim Premji to reach the first place. Shiv Nadar donated a total of Rs 1,161 crore. While Azim Premji has donated Rs 484 crore.
Mukesh Ambani ranked third
According to the Hurun India Philanthropy List 2022, Reliance Industries Chairman Makesh Ambani donated Rs 411 crore and was at number three in the list of the rich. Gautam Adani, the richest person in Asia and India, is at seventh place in terms of donation. Gautam Adani donated Rs 190 crore during this period.
Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of Aditya Birla Group, is at the fourth place in this list. He has donated Rs 242 crore. Mindtree’s Subroto Bagchi and NS Parthasarathy were at number five. Both have donated Rs 213-213 crore. For the first time both of them have entered the top 10 list.
Nikhil Kamath youngest donor
AM Naik, chairman of Larsen & Toubro, donated Rs 142 crore. Nitin Kamath and Nikhil Kamath of Zerodha have donated Rs 100 crore which is 300 percent more. Nikhil Kamath, 36, is the youngest philanthropist in this list. Ques Corp President Ajit Isaac donated Rs 105 crore to the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and is ranked 12th. IndiGo Airlines co-promoter Rakesh Gangwal has made it to the list for the first time by donating Rs 100 crore to the School of Medical Science and Technology IIT Kanpur.
Who’s ahead among women
According to the Hurun India Philanthropy List 2022, the list includes six women philanthropists. Rohini Nilekani is at the forefront of women with a donation of Rs 120 crore. Leena Gandhi Tiwari has donated Rs 21 crore and Anu Aga has donated Rs 20 crore.
