Gautam Adani has become India’s biggest philanthropist. In June this year, when he turned 60, he donated Rs 60,000 crore. This amount will be spent on health, education and skill development through the Adani Foundation. Adani Foundation was established in 1996. Its chairperson is Preeti Adani, wife of Gautam Adani. Adani Foundation helps 3.7 million i.e. 37 lakh people every year across India.
Shiv Nadar also included in the list
Shiv Nadar’s name is also included in the 16th edition of Forbes Asia Heroes Of Philanthropy, who has spent close to one billion dollars on social causes through his Shiv Nadar Foundation in the last decade. This year he has given 1160 crore rupees ($ 142 million) to the foundation. He established this foundation in 1994. Shiv Nadar was the co-founder of HCL Technologies. In 2021, he distanced himself from executive roles. He has built schools and universities through the foundation. The trustees of the foundation also include his wife Kiran Nadar, daughter Roshni Nadar Malhotra and son-in-law Shikhar Malhotra.

Ashok Soota, the 80-year-old executive chairman of Happiest Mind Technologies, has also made it to Forbes Asia’s top philanthropists. He has donated 6 billion rupees to the Medical Research Trust which he established in 2021. He started it by giving 2 billion rupees to SKAN i.e. Scientific Knowledge for Aging and Neurological Ailments. Now he has donated three times more. They will release this amount in 10 years.
