Government Hike MSP of Jute: The central government has taken many major decisions during the cabinet meeting. During this, the Central Government has given a special gift to the farmers. The Central Government has increased the Minimum Support Price for 40 crore farmers. MSP has been increased on Raw Jute. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs headed by the Prime Minister has taken this decision.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that this decision has been taken on the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices. Raw jute has been increased by Rs 300 for the season 2023-24 and is now Rs 5,050 per quintal. The government says that 40 crore farmers will benefit from this increased MSP.
How much will be the return on cost
According to the PTI report, the support price of raw jute has been fixed at Rs 5,050 per quintal. Anurag Thakur said that this decision will ensure 63.2 percent return on all India weighted average cost.
What information was found in the release
The MSP on raw jute for the season 2023 to 24 is as per the government fixing the MSP at the level of at least 1.5 times the all-India weighted average cost of production announced in the budget for 2018-19. The release issued by the government said that the Jute Corporation of India will continue as the nodal agency of the central government to conduct price support operations.

Several major decisions were taken in the meeting held on Friday by the central government. At the same time, the government has also provided benefits to the central employees. An increase in DA has been announced for central employees. 4 percent dearness allowance has been increased to 42 percent.
