GoFirst passengers in trouble, airline giving credit notes despite DGCA’s refund order

[ad_1]

Go First News: The regulator of the civil aviation sector, DGCA, had ordered GoFirst, which is facing financial crisis, to give refunds to the passengers as soon as possible after canceling all the flights. But after the cancellation of the ticket, passengers are facing huge difficulties for refund. Instead of money refund, the airline is giving credit notes to the passengers.

Last week, the DGCA asked GoFirst to refund passengers’ money as soon as possible after flights were cancelled. Thousands of passengers are waiting for money refund but they have been handed over credit notes. The portals through which the passengers had booked the tickets say that no information has been received from the airlines regarding the refund so far.

On social media, passengers are constantly asking GoFirst to refund the money. A passenger is writing on Twitter that his flight from Mumbai to Chennai has been canceled and GoFirst has given him a credit note for canceling the ticket.

In its reply, Go First expressed regret and wrote that we are understanding your problem. We assure you a better flight in future. In case of ticket cancellation, full refund will be credited to your source account. GoFirst is giving this assurance to all the passengers. But the money of the passengers is stuck with the airlines. And it is very difficult to say by when they will get it back. GoFirst has similarly canceled flights till May 12. So DGCA has ordered airlines to stop booking tickets completely.
