Flight Carrying Last Two Saroop Of Guru Granth Sahib To Arrive In Delhi Today—Watch

New Delhi: The last two Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib are currently onboard an unscheduled Kam Air flight from Afghanistan’s Kabul organized by Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Amritsar. The flight will arrive in Delhi from Kabul on Wednesday, as reported by the news agency ANI.

“A non-scheduled Kam Air flight, organized by Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Amritsar, is to arrive in Delhi from Kabul today. Last 2 Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib onboard with 3 members of Afghan Sikh community,” Puneet Singh Chandhok, President, Indian World Forum said as quoted by ANI.

“I thank the Government of Afghanistan and the Government of India for facilitating the smooth passage and protocol for the transfer of Sri Guru Granth Sahib as per its sanctity,” Chandhok further said.

Three people have arrived from Kabul with the last 2 Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The Saroop will be taken to the gurudwara now, ANI reported. According to member, It was due to efforts from SGPC and the Central government that the saroops were brought back.

In another incident, locals in Kabul have expressed frustration over prolonged power cuts amid the freezing cold, adding to the miseries of people in Afghanistan, TOLOnews reported.

The outages have left people with various challenges as a result of which they urge the authorities to address the matter. According to the residents, electricity is supplied for four to five hours daily, which is not enough for them. People have also complained that they fall short of water due to the unavailability of electricity. The business community said the power shortage has also affected factories in Kabul’s industrial park.
