As Russia’s mercenary group vows to bring down Moscow’s top brass, an aide of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Saturday, “everything is just beginning in Russia,” as quoted by the news agency AFP. This comes after the head of the Wagner mercenary group Yevgeny Prigozhin announced that he was inside the army HQ in southern Russia’s Rostov-on-Don and that his fighters have taken control of the city’s military sites, including an aerodrome.
Following Prigozhin’s claims of entering the army HQ, the Kremlin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin would address the people of Russia. The Russian army has said that it will ‘guarantee the safety’ of Wagner fighters who stop rebelling, as reported by AFP.
