EPFO Payroll Data: Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has added 14.86 lakh new subscribers in January 2023. The Ministry of Labor and Employment has given this information on Monday. The ministry said that during this period about 3.54 lakh members were out of the purview of EPFO, which is the lowest in the last four months. According to the statement, out of total 14.86 lakh subscribers, about 7.77 lakh have come under the ambit of EPFO for the first time.
10.62 lakh members re-subscribe to EPFO
The preliminary payroll data released on Monday also drew attention to the fact that around 10.62 lakh members have rejoined the EPFO. These employees had changed jobs and joined new companies under EPFO. These workers saved their social security by opting to transfer their money instead of opting for account closure.
2.87 lakh women members registered in January 2023
The ministry said that in January 2023, 2.87 lakh women members enrolled, out of which 1.97 lakh were new members. This indicates that out of total women members, 68.61 per cent women have come under EPFO for the first time.
Maharashtra number one if seen state wise
If we talk about the states, then Maharashtra has given the biggest contribution in the EPFO membership figures. This state has contributed a total of 22.73 per cent members to the EPFO shareholders’ account in the month of January. Karnataka ranks second in this list and has added 10.58 per cent of its total subscribers to the EPFO.
Contribution of members of Expert Services has increased in EPFO
Manpower suppliers, general contractors, security services, employees with mixed activities contributed 40.64 per cent, in the order of addition of EPFO subscribers during the month of January.
