IPL 2023 Auction: Indian Premier League English players dominated the auction for the 16th season of IPL. Franchises spent a lot of money on England players and broke all records to get them in their team. Only three players of England got Rs 48 crore. Even though it is a mini auction, English players have broken all the records in it.

Curran became the most expensive player of the league

To buy Curran, there was a long battle between his two old teams Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings, in which Punjab won. Along with this, Curran has also become the highest selling player in this league. Punjab Kings have added him for a whopping price of Rs 18.50 crores.

Stokes will play under Dhoni’s captaincy

Chennai Super Kings have included Ben Stokes in their team by buying them for Rs 16.25 crore. This is the biggest amount ever in IPL for Ben Stokes. Earlier in the year 2017, Rising Pune Supergiants bought it for Rs 14.5 crore. At one point he was the most expensive player in IPL history.

Brook rocked

Brook, who made his international debut this year, got a bidding war between several teams in the auction and then reached Sunrisers Hyderabad. Hyderabad signed Brook for Rs 13.25 crore after winning a close fight with Rajasthan Royals.

These players also got contract

After three players were sold at very high prices, some players were also sold at low prices. Leg-spinner Adil Rashid, who played only one match in the IPL, was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a base price of Rs 2 crore. Fast bowler Reece Topley has also got an IPL contract. Topley, who had a base price of Rs 75 lakh, was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 1.90 crore. Aggressive batsman Philip Salt has also been sold at his base price. Delhi Capitals bought Salt for Rs 2 crore.

Joe Root was unsold, but Rajasthan Royals bought him in the accelerated round at a base price of Rs 1 crore. All-rounder Will Jacques has been bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 3.2 crores.
