Basavaraj Bommai Car Checked: Election officials in Karnataka stopped Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s car on Friday (March 31) and checked it. CM Bommai was going to a temple in Bangalore Rural district at that time. Assembly elections are to be held in the state on May 10 and the model code of conduct is still in force. A video of the officials checking the car is going viral on social media.
According to sources, Bommai was going to Ghati Subramanya Temple in a private car and had returned his official car on Wednesday (March 29), the day the election schedule was announced. He told that his car was stopped at Hosahudya Chowki and searched. Sources said that nothing objectionable was found in the vehicle and the officials allowed them to proceed.

Basavaraj Bommai claims to return to power
CM Basavaraj Bommai had said on Wednesday after the election date was revealed that the ruling BJP would return to power with an absolute majority. He had said that he has visited almost all the constituencies of the state in the last three and a half months. CM Bommai had said, “I am confident that we will get a complete and clear majority and the BJP will again form the government in 2023.”
The chief minister had said that the BJP has used various mediums to reach out to people, including digital technology and campaigning by top party leaders. Responding to a question about possible candidates for the polls, Bommai had said, “We already have survey reports (about winnable candidates). Along with this opinion of people and party workers will be taken at district level and taluk level. It will be consolidated at the state level and sent to the parliamentary board for approval.
