Mutual Funds: Despite the ups and downs in the stock market in 2022-23, investing in mutual funds has become very popular and there has been tremendous enthusiasm among investors regarding investment. The average investment in debt schemes has been Rs 14.53 lakh while the average investment in equity funds has been Rs 1.54 lakh.

Investing in equity has been investing for a longer period as compared to non-equity assets. The holding period of investment in 45 per cent equity assets has been more than 2 years. At the same time, the retail investor has invested 56.5 per cent in equity assets for more than two years. During this, tremendous growth has been seen in the accounts of retail investors.
