Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran: Chief Economic Advisor of the Union Finance Ministry V. Anantha Nageswaran said on Tuesday that the Indian economy is set to perform better on the back of the government’s reforms and the economic growth rate in the remaining period of this decade. It is expected to be between 6.5 to 7 percent.
Speaking to reporters after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the economic review in Parliament, Nageswaran said that barring headwinds in the financial year 2023-24, overall inflation is expected to remain within the range. He said, “I believe that in view of the uncertainties in the global economy, the GDP growth rate for the remaining period of the decade will be between 6.5 to 7 percent, regardless of export prospects.”
