Mutual Funds: In 2022-23, Mutual Funds have invested Rs 1.82 lakh crore in the Indian stock market, which is a record. In 2021-22, mutual companies had invested Rs 1.81 lakh crore in the Indian stock market. There has been an increase in the trend of retail investors to invest in mutual funds, and in 2022, there was also a decline in the stock market, after which a record investment has been seen from mutual funds.

According to the data of SEBI, the regulator of the stock market, mutual funds have invested Rs 1.82 lakh crore in the stock market in 2022-23 after the increasing participation of retail investors in the last financial year and the increasing trend of investing in mutual funds. Mutual funds had invested Rs 1.81 lakh crore in 2021-22. During the Corona period in 2020-21, mutual funds had withdrawn Rs 1.20 lakh crore from the market.

Experts believe that there are many reasons for the tendency of mutual funds to invest in equity. Firstly, after the fall in the stock market, the valuation has become very attractive. Due to which institutional investors are very positive about investing in the market. Retail investors are looking at investing in the market through mutual funds as the best option in this upheaval.

Investing in Mutual Funds through Systematic Investment Plan has emerged as the best option. In the calendar year 2022, through SIP, an average investment of Rs 12,500 crore has been made every month. So now every month the investment has crossed the figure of Rs 13000 crore. Even though foreign portfolio investors have sold heavily in the Indian stock market. But due to institutional investors like mutual funds, there has not been a major decline in the Indian market. In the last financial year, foreign investors have invested Rs 37600 crore in equity and have sold Rs 1.40 lakh crore.
