AMU Not Opting CUET For All UG Courses: Aligarh Muslim University has recently started the registration process for undergraduate programs. Unlike other Central Universities, AMU is not recognizing CUET scores for all UG courses. It can also be said that admission in all UG courses will be on the basis of CUET score. However, there are clear instructions from the UGC in this regard that admission to undergraduate courses should be taken only on the basis of the Common University Entrance Test. This will facilitate the students and they will not have to appear for different entrance tests of different institutes.
What does UGC say
The UGC has issued an advisory to all universities and higher educational institutions and has also invited them to give full recognition to CUET. Under this, candidates will be able to appear in the entrance examination of all education institutes through a single entrance examination. On the basis of its score, they will be selected for admission everywhere.
What is the opinion of AMU
According to the Indian Express report, AMU says that they have not received any specific instructions from the commission, so they will take admission on the same pattern as last year. The university says that they will accept the CUET score only for the selected programs.

According to the notice issued by the university for UG admission, the CUET score will be valid only for the following courses – BSc Hons Community Science, BA Hons/Research – Faculty of Arts, BA Hons/Research – Faculty of Social Sciences, Bivok Production Technology, Bivok Polymer & Coating Technology, Bivok – Fashion Design & Garment Technology. Let us inform that in the year 2022 also, AMU had chosen CUET score for selected programs only.
