Ganesh ji circumambulated his parents and on being asked said that the universe is at the feet of the parents. At the same time, Kartikeya ji went round the whole universe and by the time he returned after doing his circumambulation, Ganesh ji was married.
Married couples do not do darshan because of the curse
Kartikeya got angry with Ganesh ji getting married and he took a vow never to get married. Mother Parvati became very angry on the vow of son Kartikeya not to marry. At the place where Kartikeya ji was staying, Mata Parvati said that whosoever husband and wife would have darshan of Kartikeya ji, they would be separated from each other. Due to this, the couple is a little afraid to worship together here.
