The United States has said that it remains committed to working with Pakistan to address the shared threat posed by terrorist groups throughout the region. US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller made the remark while addressing a question by a Pakistani media person on the joint statement of India-US on Pak during PM Narendra Modi’s recent US visit. He said that the US has always been consistent on the importance of Pakistan continuing to take steps to permanently disband all terrorist groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and their various front organizations.
“We remain committed to working with Pakistan to address the shared threat posed by terrorist groups throughout the region…At the same time, we have also been consistent on the importance of Pakistan continuing to take steps to permanently disband all terrorist groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and their various front organizations. We will raise the issue regularly with Pakistani officials and will continue to work together to counter mutual terrorist threats,” the State Department spokesperson said.

This comes after the joint press statement of PM Modi and US President Joe Biden mentioned that Pakistan must work to end all forms of terrorism on its land and to ensure that its territory is not used for militant attacks.
Notably, Pakistan’s foreign ministry also called the deputy chief of the US mission to express concern over Modi-Biden’s joint statement.
