In fact, today Gujarat Gas has increased the price of CNG and PNG by 5 percent. These increased prices have come into effect in Gujarat.

Know who has increased the prices of CNG

Gujarat Gas has increased the price of CNG by 5 percent today and its increased prices have come into force from today. Now for CNG of Gujarat Gas you will have to pay Rs 78.52 per kg.

PNG prices also increased

Gujarat Gas has also increased the prices of domestic PNG and its increased prices have come into force from today. The PNG price of Gujarat Gas has come down to Rs 50.43 SCM. An increase of 5 percent is being seen in this. Apart from this, talking about domestic PNG, its price has come down to Rs 1487.349 per MMBTU.

On the other hand, Gujarat Gas has reduced the price of industrial gas by Rs 7 per SCM. The changed prices of CNG-PNG and industry gas have come into force from today.

The issue of inflation of gas products was raised in the winter session

Recently, the matter of inflation of petroleum products was raised in the Parliament. In response to this, the Minister of State for Petroleum had said that the prices of gas are fixed on many grounds and the Government of India has taken several steps to control the prices. He told that between January 2021 and November 2022, there has been a jump of 327 per cent in the prices of gas in the international market, while the prices of CNG in India have increased by only 84 per cent.

If the recommendations of the Kirit Parikh Committee are implemented, the price of gas will decrease.

To determine the prices of domestic natural gas, the government constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Kirit Parikh, an expert in the petroleum sector and former member of the Planning Commission. The committee has also submitted its suggestions to the government. The committee has recommended the government to reduce the excise duty on CNG. In its recommendations, the committee has told the government that until a decision is taken to bring natural gas under the ambit of GST, the government should charge less excise duty on CNG. So that people can be relieved from expensive CNG.
