This was his second term as chief selector.

He had made a disclosure related to the former president of BCCI. Chetan had said about Hardik Pandya that he has come to meet his house many times for the captaincy. After Chetan’s sting, BCCI wanted to take action against him. According to the report, this was the reason that he had to resign.
This was the second term of former Team India player Chetan as the Chief Selector. Earlier, he was removed from the post due to the poor performance of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup. But he was recently made the chief selector again. Chetan had revealed many big secrets regarding the fitness of the players in the sting operation. According to the report, Chetan has submitted his resignation to Jai Shah and it has also been accepted.
Significantly, in December 2020, Chetan Sharma was given the responsibility of the Chief Selector for the first time. After this he was removed from the post in November 2022. The Indian cricket team performed poorly in the T20 World Cup. This was the reason why he was removed from the post. But he was given this responsibility again.
