How much the prices of which services have increased under CGHS

  • OPD consultation fee has been increased from 150 to 350
  • IPD consultation fee has been increased by Rs 50 to Rs 350
  • ICU services now fixed at Rs 5,400 per day including accommodation
  • The room rent has been increased by 1.5 times. Rs 1,500 for general rooms, Rs 3,000 for wards and Rs 4,500 for private rooms.

Increase for the first time since 2014

Its price was revised in the year 2014. After this, now for the first time such charges have increased. This will require an additional government expenditure of Rs 240-300 crore. According to the Mint report, an official said that the government has also simplified the referral procedures for big hospitals.

Big hospitals are connected to CGHS

At present, more than 1,670 private hospitals and 213 labs are listed under the health schemes of the central government. It has many major hospitals like Medanta, Fortis, Narayan, Apollo, Max and Manipal. Speaking on this move of the government, CGHS Working Group Coordinator Dr. Girdhar Gyani said that we were expecting a hike of 25 to 30 per cent, as it was not changed in 2014. He said that this is a minor increase.

CGHS in 79 cities

During the year 2021, the Ministry of Health had registered CGHS under the IT platform of the National Health Authority to streamline health services. CGHS is spread across 79 cities and is expanding to Panchkula, Hubli, Narela, Chandigarh and Jammu. More than 103 Ayush centers are also part of CGHS service.
