Business Startup Classroom: Leadership is such a skill, which everyone wants to have inside, some people are born leaders, they have every quality that brings them closer to people and business, while some people build it within themselves with hard work and dedication. We do.
Leadership skills are also very important like other skills, a founder cannot build anything big without it, many people have very good technical skills but, due to lack of human resources, crisis management, or risk taking ability, miss out on building a successful business. Let us talk about some of those mistakes in today’s article, which the founders usually do.
1- Put your ego on the side, because you don’t know everything
When we hire some people, we do it on their ability, that is, it is obvious that they understand and know that work better than us, but sometimes “I know everything” Attitude does not give that environment to the people. Where they can work. Often the founders miss their talent in convincing and getting them done according to their own way.
Steve Jobs says – ‘It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do, we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.
Remember, you do not have to compete with your people, but motivate them to do better work for the organization.
2- Over thinking more than necessary
Yes, it is necessary to think in any work, but thinking more than necessary, it only hinders in that work or does not allow to take the right decision. The startup world is based on quick and right decisions, if you do not take fast and quick decisions from people, then you will keep on slipping and will fall where closing the business will be the last stop. Pay attention to the time and outcome of your decision making, if you feel that you are not able to take fast decisions, then take the help of your mentor. But avoid late decision.
3- Lack of humility, spontaneity and empathy
A true leader is the one who knows how to connect and keep connected, your behavior should be such that you can become the choice of the people, people can talk to you without any hesitation. I have seen many founders that they angrily tell people to leave the job or talk about design, keep in mind that your job is not to design, if your employee is scared in the office, then he will never He will not be able to do the work that you expect, I have never seen creativity in scared and scared people. Yes, they can sit in your office and do the work of finding another job, but they will not do the work that you expect. So you invest in people, people will invest in your company.
4- Lack of enthusiasm, passion, responsibility and accountability
A leader is a walking institute in himself, from which people keep learning all the time, keep in mind, people look at you, the energy you bring to the office, the same energy will become of the whole office. And for this you are responsible, many times people get misunderstanding that I am the boss, there is no one above me, so I do not need to be accountable, no, a leader should be most accountable to himself. . You cannot bring this culture to your office when you are not accountable for yourself.
Keep in mind, you are responsible for everything, so keep moving, spreading positivity and enthusiasm.
