Electric 2-Wheelers Market in India is growing rapidly. Sales of electric vehicles (EV Sale) are gaining momentum due to government incentives, rising prices of diesel-petrol and increased awareness towards the environment. Especially the sale of electric two-wheelers has caught top gear. During the last financial year, more than 7 lakh electric two-wheelers were sold across the country and domestic company Ola topped it.
tripled sales
According to Redseer’s latest Electric Mobility Report, around 7.3 lakh electric two-wheelers were sold in India during the financial year 2022-23 i.e. April 2022 to March 2023. This figure is 3 times more than the previous financial year i.e. 2021-22. This shows that Indian customers are now embracing this eco-friendly mode of transport.
Ola got this much share
According to the data, domestic company Ola Electric led the market in the sale of electric two-wheelers in the country during the last financial year. Ola’s electric scooters are being well-liked. Due to this, Ola Electric managed to capture 22 per cent market share of the electric two-wheelers market during the last financial year. In this way, even after the entry of many big companies in the market of electric two-wheelers, Ola’s number one position remains.
Ola’s chances better
During the March quarter, Ola’s market share increased to 30 per cent. This indicates that Ola’s lead over other competitors may continue in the coming quarters as well. According to the report, Ola is getting this success because of its different approach. The company is giving end-to-end digital experience to its customers. Apart from this, efforts to make experience centers, technology-focused products and vehicles affordable are also helping Ola.
fast growing market
Redseer says that during the last financial year, Indian customers bought about 70 thousand electric two-wheelers every month. It has been said in the report that this whole decade can prove to be good for electric vehicles. RedSeer estimates that the share of electric two-wheelers in the total two-wheeler market will cross the 30 per cent mark in the next three years and by 2030, their share could reach 75 per cent.
Largest market for two-wheelers
Let us tell you that India is the world’s largest market in terms of two-wheelers. For the last several years, more than 1-1 crore two-wheelers are being sold in the country. In the last financial year itself, this figure had crossed 1.6 crores. This provides a great opportunity for electric vehicle companies. If companies capitalize on the opportunities well, then India’s electric vehicle market can prove to be a game changer.
