Now the board can soon issue a tender for the next 4 years, in which BCCI is considering giving separate media rights for TV and digital broadcasting this time. The last time when the Indian board sold the media rights, they earned Rs 6138.10 crore at that time.
Indian cricket team next year 2023 From 2027 to 2027, 20 Tests, 21 ODIs and 31 T20 matches are to be played at home. A BCCI official said in his statement that this time there can be a huge jump in media rights as compared to last time.
In his statement to Inside Sports, a BCCI official said that the process regarding media rights has been started and this time separate tenders will be floated for TV and digital, but the final decision will be taken in the Apex Council meeting. . We got a very good response regarding the media rights of IPL and we want to continue this further.
People are now going towards digital instead of TV
The BCCI official further said in his statement that if the numbers are seen, it clearly shows that people are now going towards digital rather than TV. That is why we want to issue separate media rights tenders for TV and Digital. We expect that a total of Rs 12,000 crore can be bid.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has already confirmed that the process of selling media rights has been started. Tenders will be issued for this in the month of June and the entire process will be completed within 45 days.
