Torrential Rains Soak Tamil Nadu, More Showers Predicted for the Next 3 Days
Tamil Nadu witnessed torrential rains on Friday, with several regions drenched in heavy downpours. The regional meteorological centre in Chennai has issued a warning of more showers expected over the next three days. According to S Balachandran, Additional Director General of Meteorology, Chennai and its adjoining suburbs are likely to experience intermittent rain, occasionally intensifying into heavy rainfall, news agency PTI reported.
The next 24 hours hold the possibility of heavy rain in specific locations, including Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Theni, and Dindigul districts. Moreover, heavy rainfall is anticipated in certain areas of Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Sivaganga, Pudukottai, Tiruppur, and Ramanathapuram districts, PTI reported.
The relentless showers have disrupted normal routines, taking office-goers and students by surprise. Rainfall has been particularly intense in the southern parts of Tamil Nadu, with isolated areas in the northern regions also experiencing heavy rain, PTI reported.
Brief Regulation of Blue Line Train Services for Maintenance Work on Sunday
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a temporary regulation of train services on the Blue Line for scheduled maintenance work. The affected section runs between Karol Bagh and Rajiv Chowk stations. As a result, train services will not be available from Karol Bagh to Rajiv Chowk stations until 6 am, the usual start time for revenue services in this segment.
The Blue Line, which connects Dwarka Sector 21 and Electronic City in Noida, will undergo the scheduled maintenance work on the night of November 4 and 5, 2023. This maintenance work will necessitate the temporary closure of Jhandewalan and Rama Krishna Ashram Marg stations, both located in this section, until 6 am on Sunday, PTI reported.
Train services for this section and stations will recommence from 6 am onwards, as announced by the DMRC.
