PM Modi to Unveil Statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji in Maharashtra Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra on December 4, where he will unveil the statue of the legendary Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji at the Rajkot fort in Sindhudurg. Alongside this, he will participate in the ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebrations at Sindhudurg, attending operational demonstrations by Indian Navy ships, submarines, aircraft, and special forces at Tarkarli beach.

The ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebrations hold special significance, paying homage to the maritime heritage of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The event commemorates the inspiration drawn from Shivaji Maharaj’s seal, influencing the new naval ensign adopted last year during the commissioning of the first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.

IMD Warns of Cyclone Crossing Andhra Coast

The depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression and is expected to evolve into a cyclone before crossing the Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Machilipatnam on Monday, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), PTI reported. Heavy rainfall is predicted in Odisha on Monday and Tuesday due to the system’s influence. The cyclonic storm, if formed, will be named ‘Michaung,’ as suggested by Myanmar.
