Bengal: TMC To Present Motion In Assembly On Manipur On Monday: 

The Trinamool Congress’s special motion on the situation in violence-hit Manipur will be debated in the state assembly on Monday. Although the Trinamool Congress leadership and state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay had previously stated that the motion on Manipur would be moved during the assembly’s ongoing monsoon session, the date of moving the motion was not specified, IANS reported. 

However, the new order of business for the House on Monday confirms that the motion will be debated on that day.

Chattopadhyay is expected to move the motion. On Monday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be present on the floor of the house to participate in the debate, the report said. 

Brij Bhushan Claims Strong Support From State Units For WFI Election, Candidate Announcements Today: 

Outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh asserted that 22 out of 25 state units participated in a meeting he hosted on Sunday, according to a report by PTI. He also stated that the names of “his candidates” for various positions in the WFI elections on August 12 will be revealed on Monday, the last day for nominations.

Brij Bhushan, who is facing sexual harassment allegations from top wrestlers such as Bajranj Punia, Sakshi Malik, and Vinesh Phogat, is ineligible to compete because he has served the maximum allowed 12 years as the federation’s head under the National Sports Code.

Telangana Cabinet To Convene Today For Rain Situation And Other Critical Matters: 

The Telangana Cabinet is scheduled to meet on July 31 to address the state’s aftermath of heavy rains, focusing on agricultural crops and roads. During ongoing crop activities, the cabinet will review the government’s response to the deluge and discuss alternative measures for the farm sector. According to an official release on Friday, the meeting will discuss urgent road restoration plans and a pay increase for Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees.
