Uddhav Thackeray to Engage with Socialist Leaders In Key Meet

Uddhav Thackeray, President of Shiv Sena-UBT and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is set to embark on a significant dialogue with eminent socialist leaders from the Samajwadi Janata Parivar on October 15, as revealed by a party official, news agency IANS reported.

This pivotal interaction, initiated by Kapil Patil, General Secretary and MLC of Janata Dal-U, is poised to gather approximately 150 representatives hailing from 21 political parties, labor unions, and grassroots movements within the state. The gathering will notably include influential socialist factions and the political allies of Maha Vikas Aghadi, namely Shiv Sena-UBT, Congress, and the Nationalist Congress Party. These alliances constitute an integral part of the INDIA bloc, a consortium of national Opposition parties.

The meeting promises to be a confluence of followers of venerable socialist figures like the late Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Jaiprakah Narayan, S. M. Joshi, and Sane Guruji. In addition to these, the assembly will also feature intellectuals, writers, advocates for social justice, and renowned media personalities, IANS reported.

Kaziranga National Park to Partially Reopen for Tourists

In a much-anticipated development, the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam is poised to partially reopen its doors to tourists from Sunday. A senior forest official confirmed that the park will open two of its four ranges, marking a substantial step towards resuming ecotourism activities, PTI reported.

Given the prevailing road conditions resulting from inclement weather, park authorities have chosen to permit jeep safaris for tourists in the central Kohora and the western Bagori ranges. Tourists will have the privilege of embarking on jeep safaris to Bimoli Tiniali via Donga Tower in the western range, and from Mihimukh via Daflang Tower to Vaichamari junction in the central range. These permissions will stand until further orders, informed Arun Vignesh, Divisional Forest Officer of Eastern Assam Wildlife Division.

To ensure the safety and well-being of both the tourists and the park’s abundant wildlife, it has been stipulated that both the central and western ranges will remain closed every Wednesday afternoon. The decision, aimed at preserving the tranquility of the park and avoiding undue disturbance, has been communicated in an order issued on Friday.

While the eagerly awaited reopening of the park is a positive sign for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers, it is important to note that the elephant safari, a popular attraction in the park known for its one-horned rhinoceros population, will remain suspended until further notification.
