Top Congress leaders are scheduled to meet at Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi’s residence on Saturday ahead of the Monsoon Session of the Parliament. On Saturday, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will launch the Mukhya Mantri Sarathi Yojana (MMSY) on the occasion of world youth skills day at a function in Ranchi, as per a PTI report.
Congress Meeting Ahead Of Parliament Monsoon Session
The meeting of the floor leaders where party president Mallikarjun Kharge will also be present will discuss strategy to corner the government on several issues including rising prices, unemployment, Manipur violence and Balasore train accident during the upcoming Parliament session, as per a PTI report.
The Monsoon Session of the Parliament will begin from July 20 and will continue till August 11.
The Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson had earlier on July 1 convened another meeting where the party’s top leadership discussed its parliamentary strategy and issues to be raised during the Monsoon session of Parliament which begins on July 20, as per the report.
The party said it will seek a response from Center on the Manipur violence and also plans to take up wresters’ protest, inflation, rising unemployment and the manner in which various governors are conducting themselves.
Jharkhand CM to launch MMSY
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will launch the Mukhya Mantri Sarathi Yojana (MMSY) on the occasion of world youth skills day at a function in capital Ranchi. Under the scheme, youths of the state will be offered training in various skilling programs such as tailoring, sewing and carpentry in a bid to link them to employment and self-employment, said an official, as per a PTI report.
If any of the trainees did not get a job after three months of training, an unemployment allowance of Rs 1,000 to boys and Rs 1,500 to girls or physically challenged trainees will be given till the end of the first year through direct benefit transfer (DBT). an official release said. Non-residential trainees will also be provided with an allowance of Rs 1000, it said.
The eligibility for the scheme has been divided into two categories – general and reserved. Under the general category, youths in the age group of 18-35 will be provided skill training, while the upper age limit for the reserved category will be 50 years, the release said.
