BITS Pilani Donation: Rakesh Kapoor, former Global CEO of Reckitt Benckiser, has donated $ 1.2 million (about Rs 10 crore) to his old engineering institute BITS Pilani. This is the biggest donation the institute has received so far.

The center will be spread over an area of 40,000 square feet.
The center will be designed by renowned architect Hafeez Contractor and will be spread over an area of 40,000 square feet. It will have innovative laboratories related to technology and hardware. Pilani Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Society (PIEDS), which is the business incubator of BITS, will also be located in this innovation centre. In this institute, new engineers and scientists will get full opportunity to work according to their talent and do new experiments.

In view of Kapoor’s generosity and dedication towards the institute, this innovation center will be named ‘The Kapoor Center of Innovation’. Rakesh Kapoor has been the former Global CEO of Reckitt Benckiser and held this position during the years 2011-2019.
