Dearness allowance can be increased from the existing 38 percent to 42 percent by the government. For this purpose, dearness allowance can be increased by full 4 percent under the fixed formula.
Dearness Allowance is revised twice a year
Through the Central Government, the rule of increasing Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief ie Dearness Relief is going on every year from January 1 and July 1. The government can increase the existing dearness allowance by 4 percent and if this happens, the DA of central employees will directly increase by 4 percent.
Dearness allowance of central employees will be 42 percent!
The central government can increase the dearness allowance (DA) by four percentage points from the existing 38 percent to 42 percent for its more than one crore employees and pensioners. A formula has been agreed upon for this purpose. Dearness Allowance for employees and pensioners is calculated on the basis of the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) released by the Labor Bureau every month. The Labor Bureau is a part of the Ministry of Labour.
The new DA will be applicable from January 1, 2023
