Rahul was injured during fielding in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. After this, he did not play in the match against Chennai Super Kings. In place of Rahul, the responsibility of captaincy in that match was handled by all-rounder Krunal Pandya.

Now an official statement has been issued by Lucknow Super Giants regarding Rahul’s injury. The franchisee told that after scanning Rahul’s injury and getting some tests done, it was revealed that he would have to undergo surgery. We will extend full support to Rahul in this difficult time so that he can make a better recovery. We will surely feel his absence. We want to see KL on the field again soon and we hope that he will be able to do so.

Lucknow’s team is currently in second place on the points table
