DA Hike News Update: The government can give the gift of increase in dearness allowance to the central government employees in the month of July. But before that, Odisha’s Naveen Patnaik government has given the gift of increasing the dearness allowance of its employees. The Odisha government has increased the dearness allowance of state government employees and pensioners from 38 percent to 42 percent.
In the press release issued from the Chief Minister’s Office, it was told that the dearness allowance of 7.5 lakh employees and pensioners of the state government has been increased by 4 percent from 38 percent to 42 percent. The government said that this decision of increase in dearness allowance will be considered applicable from January 23, 2023. When the salary is given to the employees for the month of June, then the salary will be given along with the increase in dearness allowance and outstanding arrears.
In recent times, Karnataka had recently increased the dearness allowance. This increase has been made by 4 percent and is effective from January 1, 2023. The Karnataka government has increased the DA of employee pensioners by 4 percent from 31 percent to 35 percent. In the month of May, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh had also decided to increase DA and DR by 4 percent. After this increase, employees will get 42 percent DA and pensioners will get 42 percent DR. The Tamil Nadu government had announced an increase in DA by 4 percent. This increase is effective from 1 April 2023. The Khattar government of Haryana had announced an increase in DA during April. Here the DA of the employees was increased by 4 percent. The state governments of Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh have also increased the dearness allowance.
At the same time, for the second half of 2023, from July to December, the central government may soon decide to increase the dearness allowance of its employees and pensioners. The central government can increase the dearness allowance from the current 42 percent to 46 percent.
