Team India For New Zealand ODI Series: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Team India for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. This series will start from 18 January. Wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul will not be a part of Team India in this series. KS Bharat got a chance in his place. Wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul and spin all-rounder Akshar Patel have not been selected for the ODI series against New Zealand. The BCCI issued a statement saying that both these players were not available due to family commitments.
KS Bharat got a chance
KL Rahul was not available for the ODI series against New Zealand. In such a situation, KS Bharat, who plays domestic cricket for Andhra, has got a chance in his place. However, Ishaan Kishan has also been selected in the team.
Shahbaz Ahmed and Shardul Thakur return
Shardul Thakur and spin all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed have also returned to Team India from the ODI series against New Zealand. Shahbaz Ahmed, who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL, has played three ODIs for India. However, after the series against Bangladesh, Shahbaz was not selected in the Sri Lanka series.
