BCCI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s Annual General Meeting (BCCI AGM) is to be held today. In this meeting, along with the announcement of new office bearers from the board president, some other big decisions are also to be taken. This meeting is to be held in a 5-star hotel in South Mumbai. From giving funds to all the state cricket associations of the country, many issues like women’s IPL will be discussed here.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, BCCI will also announce to give 30-30 crore rupees to the state units in this meeting. Here the amount given to the north-eastern states and some new smaller states may be slightly less. State associations of all states have also been informed about this.
Hosting cost of home matches increased
Hosting fees for some of the prestigious domestic tournaments like Col CK Nayudu Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy and Vijay Merchant Trophy have increased. The match-day fees for all these tournaments have been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.75 lakh. Along with this, BCCI has also increased the subsidy for hosting day-night matches for these domestic tournaments by one lakh rupees. It has been increased from 3.50 lakhs per match to 4.50 lakhs. This has been implemented to meet the rising cost of floodlights and other expenses.
Roger Binny to be President
Roger Binny will be elected as the new Board President at the BCCI AGM today. He will be the 36th President of BCCI. Along with them, new office bearers will also be announced for big posts like Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer. In this meeting, a big update can also come out regarding the women’s IPL to be held next year.
