India Unemployment Rate: Bad news is coming out on the employment front in the country. The Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) has released unemployment data in the country on Sunday. The unemployment rate in India has increased to 8.30 percent in the month of December 2022. This has been the highest in the last 16 months. In this, the situation has been much worse in urban areas than in villages. According to CMIE data, the highest unemployment rate has been in the state of Haryana at 37.4 percent, while the lowest unemployment rate in the state of Odisha is 0.9 i.e. below 1 percent.

According to the data, the unemployment rate in cities has increased to 10.09 per cent in December 2022, from 8.96 per cent in the previous month.
