The roti of the common man’s plate is also becoming expensive. Bread is also being hit by inflation. Due to the increasing cost of wheat, flour is becoming expensive in the retail market. The process of increasing the prices of wheat and flour is not taking its name to stop. In the last one month, the price of flour has increased by 5 percent. So an increase of up to 3 percent in the prices of wheat has been seen in the last one month.

The government had decided to put it on export in May after the wheat crop failed and prices increased. In the last one year, the price of wheat has increased by 15 percent and the price of flour has increased by more than 20 percent. The average price of branded flour in the retail market has reached around Rs 33 to 40 per kg.

According to the data of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, on September 28, 2022, the average price of flour is Rs 36.28 per kg, then the maximum price has reached Rs 65 per kg. While the minimum price is Rs 24 per kg. On September 28, flour is being available in Mysore at Rs 55 per kg, in Mumbai for Rs 52 per kg, in Chennai at Rs 35 per kg, in Kolkata at Rs 35 per kg and in Delhi for Rs 30 per kg.

However, it is believed that in view of the rising prices of wheat and flour, the government may soon reduce the import duty on wheat. The reduction in import duty will make the import of wheat cheaper, which will help in controlling the prices during the festive season.
