Asian Airgun Championship India Gold Medal: India’s junior women’s team comprising Olympians Manu Bhaker, Eisha Singh and Shikha Narwal won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol team event on the eighth day of the 15th Asian Airgun Championships in South Korea on Thursday. The Indian trio beat the South Korean team of Kim Minseo, Kim Juhi and Yang Jin 16-12 in the title match to win the country’s 23rd gold medal with one day left in the competition.

Manu, Isha and Shikha made it to the finals after shooting two rounds of qualification. He topped the list with a score of 862, which equaled the Asian record in the event. She also topped the second qualification round with a combined score of 576 .

Hosts South Korea followed them in the gold medal match, finishing second with a score of 572. The final was a close contest, but the Indian trio prevailed over the Korean shooters in the end. India also won a silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol team event on the day when Rhythm Sangwan, Palak and Yuvika Tomar lost to the South Korean team comprising Kim Jangmi, Kim Bomi and Hyunyoung Yoo.

With 23 gold, nine silver and four bronze medals, the Indian shooting team topped the Asian Airgun Championship 2022 medal tally with 36 medals. South Korea is behind India in the table with 26 medals including four gold, 14 silver and eight bronze.
