Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan Cricket Board: Once again the clouds of danger have started hovering over the event of Asia Cup 2023. Zaka Ashraf, who is leading the race for the next chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, has rejected its organization under the hybrid model. It was decided to organize the upcoming Asia Cup in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. In this, 4 matches were to be held in Pakistan while the remaining matches of the tournament were to be organized in Sri Lanka.

Zaka Ashraf said during a press conference in Islamabad that I have already rejected this hybrid model. Because I do not agree with this. The board of the Asian Cricket Council had decided that if this tournament is to be held in Pakistan then it should be held here.

Now after this statement of Zaka Ashraf, where the organization of Asia Cup seems to be in danger. At the same time, there is a doubt about the Pakistani team playing in the ODI World Cup to be held in India at the end of this year. If the PCB does not change its stand, then a decision can be taken to play the Asia Cup without the Pakistan team.

Will see what the situation is after assuming office

Potential PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf said that all the main matches of the Asia Cup would be held outside Pakistan. Matches of weak teams will be made to Pakistan which is wrong. I don’t know which one the board approved first. I see what can happen in such a short span of time. There are many issues before Pakistan. The matter of the World Cup is not resolved yet. In such a situation, one may have to wait for its schedule. I will take a decision according to the situation only after assuming office.
