According to a report in Business Today, a graduate student from IIT Bombay told that he was hired by Amazon as a software engineer. But this offer has been postponed till January 2024. The student said that he was recruited in Amazon at the SDE-1 level with an offer of 30 lakh per annum salary. I was supposed to join in June itself. But email came from HR that the offer has been postponed for the time being. My joining is now in January 2024.
He told that the students who had done internship with the company had the same experience.

The placement cell of NIT has also confirmed that the offer letters given to some students have been postponed for some time and some have been cancelled.

The Financial Times also reported in December 2022 that the offer letter given to students in the US has been postponed for a year. The company blamed the macroeconomic situation for this. The company told the students that it was not a personal but a business decision.
